Yeah, it's not for everyone. We are one of thirteen CBWC churches in edmonton and our "gift" to the city is being a church that still plays the organ, has a church choir and sings from a hymn book. It's intriguing to see the intergenerational mix that is responding to our sunday morning gathering.

What holiness! Such a difference from our church services...

It makes me sad.

"This is The Feast" is one of two choices in the "Gloria" slot of one of our several settings of the Divine Service in the Lutheran Service Book. The other option is a "real" Gloria. (I'm not a huge fan of the "This Is the Feast" setting of the Divine Service myself.)

The common service - the one many Lutherans call "page 15" although it's now on page 184 in the new new hymnal- uses the more standard Gloria, "Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost."

Lutherans do. I think the LCMS sometimes substitute "This Is the Feast", but I could be wrong since I've only read about it and not observed it.

You've inspired me to pull out my old, red LCA hymnal and use it for my daily devotions!

LCA = the former Lutheran Church of America.

Seeing as how St. Blaise is the patron saint of throats, there *has* to be a patron saint of feet.

You could do the sock-twirling on his or her feast day :-)
