Thanks, Michael. I met post-modernism like a Mack truck when my daughter attended an emergent academic retreat center for four months last fall. We're still deprogramming. And part of that has been to win her commitment to memorize epistles with me, starting with Colossians. This week it's Col. 2.8-15. So when I saw the title of your blog, having stumbled across it looking for commentary on Colossians 2.8's "elemental spirits of the world," I was thinking, "Oh, no." But your message has me thinking you're an ally in the cause of truth, and for that I'm appreciative. God's blessings on you, and nowhere more than in your work with men.

Michael,
Unlike 'vkirkman,' I do not understand the point you are trying to make. I am assuming that the problem is me, not your writing. I know you are busy, but could you sum-up what your main point is, for this uneducated preacher? Know this: I have caused more than my share of headaches for my Professors, in the past, by asking them to simplify for me. Their mistake was asking God for patience; He me to them as an answer to their prayers [O Lord, give me patience].

I'm told that Peter once said about Paul, that he was sometimes hard to understand. Somtimes I feel that way when I read your blog. But, this message I understand, and I wish that it could be preached to every Christian congregation in the land.
To see that you are 100% correct about the church today, one only has to watch a few hours of "Christian" television.
