Note on the Great Spam Wars we've been fighting. I received this from Joe the Plumber this afternoon:
New spam filter installed. You may want to update the Bulletin Board with a reminder that commenters now need to check a box to prove that they're human. We'll see how this one works.
As always, we're grateful to Joe. We could not do this without him.

Thanks for posting this. It’s wonderful. I was/am a little bit jealous of you getting to see him.
This is humlbing and Christ driven.
“Dean it was Isaiah” very nice!
This was the greatest interview — I was there — I think the back of my head in the second row was shown a few times.
His talk truly revolutionized my idea of pastorate and seminary — his opinion that all pastors should spend the first year of seminary reading great works of literature. Amen!
His Eat This Book is a must-read. And I loved his reasoning for enjoying Joyce and finding helpful hints in Ulysses.
And his thin about Bono — “Dean, it was Isaiah!” Too funny.
Dean Nelson was kind enough to share his office with me when I was a startving adjunct in the lit dept of Point Loma. I still can’t get used to seeing him in a tie….
