Well, I am definitely dumber than a post (a Southern expression I never fully understood until I stumbled across this thread). Whut I really want to know, though, is, whur kin ah git sum uh thet thar Prayer of Jabez underwear???? i just wanted to say thank you to everyone for by far the funniest comment thread i’ve read in a long, long while. and, trust me – i try to lighten any one i jump into. i see now that i am just a rank amateur who has finally tasted the presence of greatness.

the exchange du frenchy was especially riotous.

I’ve obviously missed quite a few posts, because I’m still trying to figure out what “post-evangelical” means, although I like the ring to it.

Also, mark me down as “post-conservative” as well.

Michael:

I actually would like to apologize for previously questioning your use of the term, “post-evangelical”. After reading Michael Horton’s article, “Are Churches Secularizing America?”, I whole-heartedly agree that evangelicalism has past a critical mark. This and other articles mention that God is no longer a significant factor in evangelism. Perhaps we are now post-theistic (the accepted term appears to be “new atheism”). If we no longer need God, we certainly don’t need the gospel. Would the last one out please shut off the light?

“L’histoire”…that can mean story, not just history…as in the last word of the story.
