(In early-period D&D, Dungeonmasters were often nicknamed “God” because they created the background campaign universe the players entered and were in control of the “reality “of the game. Actually a pretty good argument for monotheism, as I have seen what happens when multiple game masters get at loggerheads. That’s because the Quarter (the original site of the city) is on some of the highest ground in the city and the Ninth Ward on some of the lowest. The higher you are, the more likely you are to be dry when the levees breach and the less likely you are to get hit by storm surge.
