As a young man, I never knew a pastor who I wanted to be like. It wasn't a life I aspired to. As a Regent student, I finally read some "obligatory Peterson" for a review assignment. Not far in, I realized that I had finally met my first Pastor-Hero. His description of pastoral ministry suddenly sounded like a sane and compelling vocation. It sounded like the work of a real person. Peterson is the reason I'm a pastor now and I'm sure I'm not alone.
