Note on the Great Spam Wars we've been fighting. I received this from Joe the Plumber this afternoon:
New spam filter installed. You may want to update the Bulletin Board with a reminder that commenters now need to check a box to prove that they're human. We'll see how this one works.
As always, we're grateful to Joe. We could not do this without him.

Michael, I want to thank you for the raising my awareness of Battle Cry. Your article and link to Franks article are both timely and inciteful. My church is planning on taking our youth group to see Battle Cry in May and it’s obvious after this podcast that I need to bring to light the concerns that you and the other bloggers have raised.
Thanks again,
Rong
iMonk, I’m very much looking forward to your upcoming posts on Catholicism. As a current participant in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, or instruction prior to being received into the Catholic Church), I appreciate your willingness to examine liturgical practices even as you disagree with Catholicism on many theological/doctrinal issues.
The podcast was spot-on about Rolling Stone and the “culture war” mentality, too.

I’ve been to a few Acquire the Fire/Battle Cry events with my teens, and I wouldn’t say I ever totally bought into all the alarmist hype. There was always something that just didn’t feel right, but I did semi-enjoy the conferences. But I believe you’ve hit the nail on the head with this one. Have you ever received any responses from Ron Luce? I’d love to hear his defense on the matter.
BTW, big fan, Michael.
