On a more serious subject than baseball history, I really appreciate your comment that there is a difference between friendship and social networking.

Here's a quote on that topic.........The most memorable people in life will be the friends who loved you when you were not very lovable.

The Reds were not the last team to win back to back World Series. The Yankees did it, back to back to back actually, in 1998, 1999 and 2000. The Reds were however the last NATIONAL LEAGUE team to do it in 1975 and 1976. Which is still true since the Phillies weren't able to accomplish it this year.

Never saw the show but I recognized it. I love Patrick Warburton's, "That sound more trouble than a moose on the interstate."

If I could get my wife to hear Tom Hanks, "There's no crying in baseball!", I bet she'd give Monk a spin on the old iPod. :-)

...were those sleighbells in the background...

Well, it was Halloween; maybe that was the Christian (TM) station playing Christmas music to Counter the Devil?

"Sleigh bells ring, will you listen,
(something something) snow will glisten;
(Doo doo dee doo doo
Doo doo dee doo doo)
Walking in a Winter Wonderland..."

IMonk, what's the source of that sound bite at the start, the one with the fingernails-on-a-chalkboard voice going: "I've figured out what to do with our sinner children"? It sounds surreal.
