I am catholic and I’m raising my young children catholic. They attend catholic school but we also attend a local elder run home church gathering who are not affiliated with any particular denomination but base this on the Antioch Church Model. Membership for this gathering requires participation in a 6-week discipleship course. The skill of the gathering or “how to” gather is laid out in the discipleship course. I see the benefits and fruit of both the institutional model as well as the home church but both require “membership” or “training” which brings accountability within that church community.
