...dispatches from the post-evangelical wilderness
A Joint Celebration
The Vatican and the Lutheran World Federation released a joint document, “From Conflict to Communion,” in Geneva on Monday, June 17. In preparation for the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017, they have pledged to celebrate the occasion together. The document especially highlights the progress made by Lutheran-Catholic dialogue in the past 50 years.
You can read the document, which re-examines the history of the Reformation and its themes and how we might think about it in today's global-ecumenical age.

This is compelling evidence. Does one have to be Baptist to get in on this action? I feel more than a little taunted myself.
Hilarious. Simply hilarious.
Well… has to be better than the NRSV, I suppose
Priceless.
I figured they sent the Pope & Obama early
copies.
Clay, may we take it that this is going to be the Papally Endorsed Official Bible for the upcoming Synod of Bishops on “The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church”?
You all are making me want to get a copy of this thing. Now, stop!
If there is an ESV that includes the Deuterocanons then Holy Father might just give it one. God knows it can’t be worst than the NAB.

To heck with my IVCF staff worker recommending I get an NRSV…if it’s good enough for the Marx Brothers it’s good enough for me.
So, how do I get one?
Some of these could be faked. I have been told that you can buy computerised programs which are able to manipulate photographic imagery. I don’t suppose that any Christians would want to alter reality like that, but you just never now. Just wanted to warn your readers.
Gim.
The ESV is really getting around. I gotta get myself another copy.
