Deja vu a little.

Reminds me of Clint Eastwood’s under-rated Western Pale Rider. Especially scene where the bad guy’s hired guns say they let no one into the mining camp but “some dumb preacher.”

The bad guy literally spits out an obscenity and yells, “A Preacher! God almighty! Now they’ll be dug in that mountain tighter than ticks on a cow! Don’t you know preachers bring hope and nothin’ makes men’s spines strong than when you give them hope!”

Loved that film. Think I’ll watch it again when I get home.

I think the function is the conversation – the story – that ensues. But that’s just me. On the web site, they offer some thoughts about myth, story, etc. and their quest to bring storytelling back. As a pastor, I just told my associate I think their videos would make awesome discussion starters in church. Or in a coffee shop (I’ll leave the pub for others ).

The venue seems to be mostly online at this point, but I don’t know that for sure. I just know they have a multi-pronged online presence.

I get the meaning, love it. I am looking for the FUNCTION. Everything produced is for a reason. My ignorance is based in lack of experience with this production company. Is it a video designed to be played in church? On mtv? Internet? I get the message, but where is it playing? Sorry, up here in pennsyltucky we get left out of the loop.

Although Brandon is a media director for a church in Atlanta, if you’re looking for chapter-and-verse, you won’t find it here. You WILL find compelling storytelling, thoughtful discussion-starters, and something unique and different each time you view it.
